Difference Between a Hill Rom P1900 TotalCare Sport 1 and Sport 2 Bed
What is the difference between a Hill Rom P1900 TotalCare Sport 1 and a Sport 2?
The main difference is that the "Sport 2" is the newer version of the bed and has
a touch screen interface and also all "Sport 2" bed models have a low air loss mattress system.
The low air loss mattress was added on some Sport 1 bed models however not all "Sport 1" beds
have this feature.
"Low air loss" is a feature that runs a layer of air conditioned air over the top of the mattress
system to prevent sweating and keeping the patient cool. The Hill Rom P1900 TotalCare Sport bed
model was designed with an air mattress to treat and help prevent bed sores, pressure wounds,
skin ulcers and skin breakdown. The mattress system also has a pulmonary feature referred to
as "percussion-vibration" which breaks up upper respiratory congestion. Both the Sport
1 and Sport 2 bed models have that feature and also "lateral rotation", which turns the patient
left, right and center. By keeping the patient moving it prevents them from staying on one
position and helps assist caregivers and nurses.
